STORY

Zooming in, the thin, crisp lines become huge, black walls – a fortress of protection and stability. At this magnification, the Tipi seem so carefully considered and confident – not the delicate shapes that the audience have come to expect, but a bold and graphic pattern. The calm before the storm, this artwork shows the black lines before they are coloured – it’s at this point of the process that I must tread carefully, making sure that each new colour is exactly as imagined and making sure the drops of water and watercolour paint don’t bleed into the black walls as they’re more vulnerable than they appear.

This item is sold unframed and is packaged with acid-free tissue paper inside a cardboard hard, board envelope for maximum protection. Due to the unique nature of the matte finish ink used, we recommend keeping the artwork flat at all times and refrain from rolling it. For bespoke framing in London, we recommend Ingo Fincke in Battersea Rise.
